House of Ruff believes the health and well-being of your dog are of the utmost importance. While we hope your dog doesn't need treatment while in House of Ruff's care, we think it's important for you to know that we are affiliated with Urban Animal. They are a local, independent veterinary care clinic, open 7 days a week on Capitol Hill, South Lake Union and Burien.
All dogs must be healthy and free from contagious disease, parasites, fleas and ticks. Proof of current vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Bordetella) and flea protection must accompany the membership registration form. If your dog's vaccinations are not up to date, Urban Animal provides economically priced services at their walk-in clinic, no appointment needed.
To ensure dogs under our care are not spreading infectious disease, the Bordetella vaccine is required annually. Similar to a flu shot, this vaccination does NOT guarantee dogs will stay free from infectious tracheitis/kennel cough. It simply helps them build a stronger immune response. Urban Animal recommends Intranasal Bordetella as it becomes effective quicker than the injection type. However, some dogs cannot receive Intranasal meds due to behavioral or breed related issues.
